At each end of the NSW 80 class D/E loco there is a small notch in the
walk rail to accommodate the MU cable. Why? Why couldn't the cable
simply hang outside the walk rail?
I am about to conduct a clinic on detailing the Austrains model, and
fitting the MU cable accordingly is part of that clinic. You can rest
assured I am going to be asked the above question by someone! This
little brown duck wants to be prepared. So, what's the answer, please?
