Re: railway history



The Big Engines book is by Ken Groves and I think the RTM were/are going to
do another edition. I don't know if it has come out yet.
5711 is the only one left and it is at the RTM Thirlmere. It has had a
small group working on it on and off for a number of years and there was a
proposal to return it to service but I think the cost and limited use it
would have meant that it wouldn't be viable.
