Wasn't one of the main reasons the Labour government got in in 1982 (or
thereabouts) was on the basis of upgrading a public transport system
that had been run down for decades by successive Liberal governments? I
for one would vote for a government that aimed to get people back on
public transport with serious proposals to improve it.
