And that is only fair. Anyone who buys, say, a year's worth of daily
tickets has given their money up front to the PTC, reducing its
interest bill and helping cash flow, etc.

It's not much different from the discount you get buying a yearly ticket.

Mind you, it would be smarter to buy a yearly ticket than a year's worth
of one-day tickets.
