At Box Hill and Canterbury, there are frequent announcements over the
station PA when I have been there about buying tickets in advance and
only validating them before you travel. They repeat them every couple of
minutes and they get quite annoying after a while. They also tend to
obscure other announcements about late running trains and other more
important information.
