In the era of which Mauria and Judy are talking, the passenger service was
by derm from Thomastown (sometimes with a trailer, sometimes without);
freights ran via Royal Park. The service ceased in 1959. The
electrification to Epping was opened five years later. AFAIK Reservoir
freights ran via Clifton Hill after the inner circle closed.
