Obviously not a Melbourneite.
The Marybynong River goods line ,(some times called the Footscray Goods line )
branches off the down Sth Kensington - Footscray line immediately after
crossing the Marybrnong river and turns hard left , and follows the bank of
the river down about as far as Somerville Road.
There are a few sidings off the line along the way.
The line was originally worked by ordinary staff with no tickets, with the
staff being kept in Sth Kensington Box,(god knows how its worked today).
Ive never seen a train on the line , but I guess it does get used occasionally.

cheers
