the variable Melbourne weather has 'claimed' the passenger info systems
at Spencer St - when I arrived there at 7:30 this morning (3 Feb) the
country platform displays were showing all sorts of incorrect trains,
and it was still the same on my way home at 18:20 - V/Line had improved
matters by using the whiteboards to show platform departures, and there
was a Customer Services officer with a megaphone in the subway
announcing platforms/departures.
Spencer St also copped it the weekend before last when the rain
hit....flooding out the main concourse, causing the kiosk to be closed,
and some electrical hassles. The carpark was under 1 foot of water in
parts!
