I regularly use the Sandringham line on weekdays (boarding and alighting
at Windsor and Parliament). I notice that on maybe 80% of trains, when
approaching South Yarra or Richmond, the driver makes an annoucement
advising passengers to change here for services to x, etc. This has been
the case for quite sometime now and appears to work quite well.

One part that gives me a little chuckle is hearing the 'airline style'
annoucement by some drivers. It goes some thing like "On behalf of the
PTC we'd like to welcome you aboard our service to Sandringham today
....." - I keep waiting for the dry martini's to be served.
