>From what you say then, even though the Met fare structure ends at
Craigieburn (for example), any money from tickets sold by Vline outlets
as Vline tickets to as far as Broadford (or Seymour maybe you say)
actually goes to the Met. Is this correct or did you mean Vline are
contracted to supply services to the edge of it's zone structure?
In addition, as a matter of interest, when the brave new world begins
(full privatisation), does this mean that metropolitan stations
(belonging to Hillside and Bayside rail) that currently sell Vline
Passenger tickets may not do this in the future?
And in relation to bums on seats provided by Vline, will the new
suburban operators possibly buy their own locos and carriages (or hire
them if not ridiculously priced) and run these services themselves? I
couldn't imagine the current arrangements being too much in the new
private operators interests (except for whoever takes Vline Pass) unless
they pay per passenger instead of per seat provided such as the new
arrangements for the private Melbourne bus companies' services.
