QR is also using diesels under the wires much more now and there are stories
around that they would prefer to use diesels for freight on the North Coast
line generally rather than electrics. I suspect that the NC electrification
was political rather than economic. There are even stories that if they made
the decision today they wouldn't even electrify the coal lines.
