Re: Dorrigo

No. It is a non profit company owned by its members. Membership is open to
anybody interested. We currently have about 700 members.

<<Why is it not operating?>>

The problems over the last 10 years would take a book to explain. Dispite
the rumours we are (and have always been) committed to opening a static
display and operating tourist trains.

<<If the Ragtag railway is stiil there why is it now not running?>>

The line at Rhondda was not suitable for public running. At that time there
were no suitable lines available in the Hunter Valley (this was before SMR
ceased), which is why we went looking for the most suitable line in NSW and
picked Dorrigo. Even after spending 10 years bashing our collective heads
against the proverbial brick wall, we still believe Dorrigo to be a near
ideal location.
