Parkeston, W.A.

Thought you all might be interested.
Sited on 17th December 1998, at Parkeston, Western Australia on 3MP9, the
SCT train hauled by Australian Southern Rail was CLP 13 in A.S.R's new
livery leading ALF 21 in the old A.N. livery and surprise, surprize a
Westrail "L" class. All engines in power. This was a rather large train even
by A.S.R standards. If my memory serves me correct the SCT trains heading
west these days are mostly around 1800 metres long. Mind you the TNT trains
are not much smaller. There are regularly 3 SCT trains each way per week and
TNT trains around the same. Even with all those trains, ASR regularly places
loading for SCT and TNT on the fuel train. Another piece of news I heard was
that ASR recorded a $9 million dollar profit in it's first year. Now that is
not too bad. No further comment.
