When I travelled to Brisbane in February I landed Car E (from memory),
with all the groups of school kids (not school leavers.. they were too
young for that). The groups of children were noisey and disruptive, and
did not appear to have any adult supervision. I found sleeping near
impossible until the majority of these children alighted at Casino.

However, when I got up to get a bite to eat, I was amazed by the
peacefulness and quite of Cars D and C - pensioners curled up against
their little pillows asleep.

Later when I was in Brisbane, I actually went in to the QR travel center
and demanded that my return journey be in a different carriage, on the
grounds that they appear to try to group together school groups etc into
a standard carriage. Being a male university student, they possibly just
placed me in a similar category.
