Firstly there's only ONE 4D so the title's wrong.

Secondly (and much more importantly), it has seats like a tangara.

Why have NSW trains, both suburban and country, traditionally had
significantly less comfortable seats than those in Victoria and, for that
matter, almost all seats in the entire country?   Even second class wooden
seats in Taits were better shaped and hence more comfortable.

Probably using the same logic that dictates that the walls of underground
stations in Sydney are painted black!
