The problem is not so much lack of staff, but lack of trains.  The XPT is
designed to be a high speed medium distance train.  It was not designed to go to
Melbourne or Brisbane.  The only reason it does is because all the trains that
were designed to go there have been withdrawn.  If you want cleaner, more
reliable trains, fine.  Cancel one Melbourne XPT and the Grafton XPT.
