3830 & 3801 going to Vic. & S.A.,

A few weeks ago a rumour was reported that the two 38s were running
down to Albury, then on through Victoria to South Australia in
October.
Unfortunately it is only rumour.
I was speaking to the person who "controls" 3830 (it goes nowhere
without his say so) about a follow up tape to "Welcome back 3830"
which is just about completed, and he said that at this stage the
engine is only scheduled to make one local trip for the rest of the
year.

The follow up tape (which features both 3801 & 3830) includes the
following highlights:
* the two locos double heading to the Maitland Steamfest, with cab
footage from Strathfield to Gosford.
* 3801  slipping violently as it struggles up  the grade out of Young.
* 3830 & 2705 struggling on the grade into Thirlmere.
* various combinations of 01, 30 & SMR18 with tour trains and the
Cockatoo Run amalgamated for the climb out of Robertson.

If you liked "Welcome Back 3830" then you won't be dissappointed by
this tape. All proceeds from its sale will go to The Powerhouse Museum
and 3801 LTD.
