As Johann points out, the tram routes are run by different companies which
post-privatization are unlikely to through route (just look at what happened
to Trans Adelaide buses and the problems caused now by the lack of through
routing). The only through routing which might be expected would be with the
86 at Bourke St (which last I heard was to be extended to the Casino), the
11 at Collins St (which was also slated to run to the Casino) or the
30/34/23/24 at LaTrobe St. Given the problems they have now working out what
to do with the terminus of 30/etc, 48, 75 and City Circle trams at LaTrobe/
Spencer, heaven help them when the 70s terminate there too!! - I would
suspect that through routing at least some of them on say the 30/34 would be
a sensible idea - although the potential was there to do that using the 48
too given both 30 and 48 are now run by Kew Depot and have been for a short
time now which 70 isn't.
