For example if 8232 was very late out of Warrnambool, or not running or
something like that, 8217 would depart Winchelsea at 13:56 (as per
public timetable) and proceed to Birregurra (14:10), then Colac. You'd
arrive at Colac quite early, and have to wait time until the publicly
advertised departure time of 14:34 In my time as a Conny, it's only
happened once. 8232 was 65 late out of Warrnambool, so the cross was
held over the Colac.

On the flip-side of the coin, if 8217 is a bit late and 8232 arrives at
Winchelsea first, 8232 will be shunted into the loop, hence 8217 will
recover quite a bit of time, and may get through Birregurra before the
'normal' time of 14:19, having recovered the deficit by not doing the
shunt.

No. I regularly run 8217 and pick up Birregurra passengers, they've
never complained to me.

Cheers,
CH.
