I don't think so!! I believe the tunnels are still intact, although walled
up part way through. Part of the tunnels are used for access to the
Wynyard car park now occupying the former tramway platform area, I believe
the section beyond toward the bridge was used as a shooting gallery for
training security personnel, etc. The Cahill Expressway loop tunnel would
have to be well below the tramway tunnels, or it would have had to cut
through the railway tunnels as well, because the road goes uphill as it
curves around to the tollgate area on the bridge approach.
