In reply to the question asked *how many are employed in the industry
etc*, I have been in the rail industry since 1969, starting off as a
trainee engineman at Eveleigh, worked my way through the ranks to
fireman, acting driver. I got sick of being on shunting engines, so
changed rank to the position of trainee signalman, worked through the
ranks again, and ended up in the CTC complex at Junee - a long way from
relief work in Sydney.

>From there I got interested in Train Control, worked in Junee and Orange
Control, had the opportunity to do Project Work on the Train Order
Project, back in 1991. Moved back to sydney in 1993, still with the
Train Order Project, took a higher grade promotion to the OCS Project,
and in November last year, took the step back to the Operations area,
where I am now the Train Operations Manager with FreightCorp.
