Interesting... it was only last year that trackwork was done on this
line.

I wonder what this money is earmarked for, then?

I noticed that the article (The Age, 21/4/98, p. 3) said 'Warrnambool
to Geelong'. Does this preclude any work being done on the Melb. -
Geelong section which would benefit Geelong commuters as well?

There is currently a local campaign to 'Fix The Jam' on the Melb. -
Geelong freeway by adding a third lane - about $200M worth. It has
been pointed out that significant improvements can be made to the
Geelong line for about 1/10th of that...
