Qld is the only state other than Vic which maintains a railway owned small
freight service. Even up here much of it goes by road as it is impossible to
make such small amounts of freight economical. I am not sure if Q-link are
using trains for the long distance runs but I know they are using trucks for
the closer towns and cities. As Victoria does not have any distant centres
of population don't expect Fast track to survive as a rail service. Why
should it any way? Railway small freight services were grossly inefficient
in both economic and energy terms.
