Rail Advertising

1. Driving down to the Gold Coast from Brisbane this
morning on the Pacific Highway near the Helensvale
turnoff, I noticed what were originally Main Roads Dept.
signs (now Transport Queensland, I think) proclaiming
that "Citytrain's Nerang station opens in December".
These signs normally give info on roadworks or safety
slogans, but it is great to see them advertising rail.
2. A hundred metres or so further along, a huge hoarding
was advertising "First Class across the Continent -
Indian Pacific" or similar wording. The image was of a
red carpet with rail tracks superimposed. It doesn't
take private companies long to get their act together,
does it?
