Re: Puffing Billy - Gembrook



Hi, here is some news for you.  The track is nearly finished: only 100m and
the bridge over cockatoo creek to go.  Fielder station is finished and
looks great, but Cockatoo & Gembrook are still very incomplete.  Plans for
Gembrook include 2 stations - one near where the original station was and
one near the main road, (at the location of the original water tank -
referred to as 'Siberia' in olden times) which will be the regular PBR
station.   Plenty of things of interest are planned for Gembrook, including
relocating part of the museum there, and the reopening should be sometime
in 1998/99 - what a day that will be!  Management are currently planning
timetables etc., I haven't got details, but the most recent Narrow Gauge
magazine has a full issue of Gembrook news!
