During the 1914-18 war "political correctness" was as
high on the agenda as it is today. In many historical
accounts of that period the phrase "a ceromony was not
held due to the current state of war" was a standard
phrase inserted by the word processors of that era.

If the enemy would have heard of the opening it may have
changed history :)
