It was behind 3801 from Sydney to East Greta. It was working a lot of the time because
the train was way over the load for a single 38. It was placed on the back on the way
back due to the restrictions of the single line working Thornton/Sandgate. It was
uncoupled at Broadmeadow and ran Light Engine behind the train.

The coal lines were closed due to the accident. Therefore, the weighbridge at Hanbury
Junction could not be used, so they would have sent the train via the weighbridge at
Kooragang Island to Port Waratah.
