The Bl's can no longer lead as they have had all the ASW equipment
removed. (It was transferred to the NR's).

6tn I assume means sixth notch. Nr's are set up so as the driver can
select, via the computer, a maximum power setting.
In the normal running of "The Overland" , notch six will be okay, but
if late running is encountered notch 8 will be used up inclines to
make up time.

Well, I know you directed this question to someone else but, speaking
from experience:
They are the most comfortable Locomotives I have ever worked on.
We have had some teething problems with them, (so do all new locos)
but they are getting better.

"big wheel"
That went out with the stone age!!
Tell me, what makes someone so special that they should be "big wheel"
drivers?

In answer to your question . No, all NR crews will run "the Overland".
