I have seen 2 dates quoted: 28th October and much more recently
1st November when the workplace agreements have been stated to
come into effect.

The Indian Pacific:
It may be that if it the 28th October then 2SA8 will be the
existing owners and 3AP8 the new owners. The take over would
be in Adelaide between trains and, if the car set is not changed,
through Sydney Perth passengers would travel on a government
then a private train without changing cars.

Otherwise the change would be on Friday 31st and a similar
situation would apply.

The Eastbound leaves Adelaide Wednesday and Sunday so a
change over date of the 29th or 2nd is likely.

The Ghan
I would think the first GSR service would be in the first week
of November if the Thursday 30th October service is not.

The Overland:
It could well be the 1st November Eastbound and the 2nd Westbound,
else the 31st October Eastbound and the 1st November westbound.
