Unfortunately this is just typical of the general rail scene in this
country. See if you can find a single piece of railway equipment that
is properly maintained.

In the workshop of a former employer of mine there was a sign up on the
wall:
"Look after your tools, and they will look after you".

The loco's, track, etc etc are the tools you run a railway with - pity
very few railway operators look after them properly. They run stuff
into the ground, then throw it away. IMHO, that's not the way to do
things....
