Which of course occurred during the 34 years of National Party
Government which also "says something" about that period. One wonders
what the Nats were doing while the capital city tramway system was
being dismantled on the doorstep of State Parliament?

Queensland, of course, has a State within a State in that Brisbane
City Council has effective control of an enormous area which contains
a population greater than some Australian states. However, none the
less the State government seems to have exercised none of the
discretionary influence it could have wielded in order to contained
Clem Jones in the particular instance of the abandonment Brisbane Tram
and Trolleybus operations.

Since Gary is an active member of a particularly arrogant state
political organisation, with his own political barrow to push, I'd
counsel you to be very wary of anything he tells you.,... but I think
you already know that!

Of course, but when has a politician ever let the facts get in the way
of a good story.
