Re: V/Line Sprinter roster

I had another thought prompted by the rumour of an extra service to
Shepparton on weekdays. The Sprinter which forms the 14.05 Seymour is idle
until the 5.45 up the next day (7.10 up on Saturdays) and the 12.30 down
on Saturdays is idle until 5.45 up on Monday. An extra service could be
run along the lines of the Echuca service.

The 14.05 Seymour could be retimed to depart at 13.35 and be extended to
Shepparton, crossing the 14.55 up at Murchison East. It would arrive at
Shepparton at about 15.55. Forming a 17.00 up, it would connect with the
15.55 up Albury at Seymour. Alternatively, it could merge with the 15.55
up Albury (are there low speed signals at Seymour to allow this?) and the
21.00 Seymour could run Mon-Fri instead of Friday only. Or there could be
a 19.30 Seymour Mon-Fri.

The 12.30 Seymour on Saturdays could also be extended to Shepparton,
arriving at about 14.50. Forming a 17.20 up, it would connect with the
16.10 up Albury at Seymour.

A useful daily service from Maryborough could also be provided by
extending some Ballarat Sprinters. The 17.40 (M-F), 17.45 (Sat) and 18.55
(Sun) could be extended to Maryborough. The 7.50 (M-F), 8.35 (Sat) and
17.05 (Sun) up Ballarat Sprinters could originate at Maryborough departing
at 6.30, 7.15 and 15.45 respectively.

Cheers
