The local rag has the banner "Train Sevices Halved". I thought it was a
joke, but they are not joking. Now off-peak users on the upper half of
the Hornsby via Strathfield have had the frequency fall back to
half-hourly, and these are all stations to Burwood to boot.
It seems a bit strange, as there really wasn't a problem with the
off-peak trains. What was a six to eight car service half hourly became
a four car service every 15 minutes. Unless these slots are occupied in
the "new" timetable, I can't see any reason why the frequency can't be
maintained in some form.
