All distances on the Main South line are measured via Granville.

<SMARTARSE> On the same token, East Hills is 24km (via Sydenham) and
Glenfield Junction is 41 km (via Granville). A subtractive distance
of 17 kms. :) The Griffith Pass takes 8 minutes to traverse the
section, which gives an average speed of 128 km/h. :) An all stations
train can even manage to do the same section in 8 minutes. Averaging
a speed of 128 km/h including the stop at Holsworthy!.
</SMARTARSE>

The fact is that Glenfield Junction is only 32 kms via Sydenham,
giving a sectional distance of 8 kms, which brings the average speed
down to a more believable 60 km/h.

Why the Griffith pass has the same sectional time as an all stations
train is beyond me.
