It equates to 16 cars per hour and the same number of seat miles per hour.

It also saves the wages of one crew!

Remember they are in the business of running trains and not interested in
providing a service to customers.

Railwaymen always comments that their job would be a hell of a lot easier
without passengers!

These sort of changes are certainly a way of achieving that goal,
