The first tests on locomotive Q 301.
Run no. 2095 Forrestfield dep 0930 Midland dep 0945 Avon Yard 1200.
(Actually it was a little tardy in getting away, 1000, due to length
runner on line).
Run no. 2096 Avon Yard dep 1230 Midland dep 1445 Forrestfield arr 1500.
(came in at about 1625)
Trails conducted with two L class locos.
And so a new era dawns in WA.
Yellow locos with black stripes on the ends - will be indistinguishable
from wagons (safety?????)
The first two, 301 and 302 are to be commissioned next month.
I don't know when the S class ng variety will run.
I was a pretty sight, anyway. The smell of new locos is something else!
