Skyrail is purported to be the world's longest cable car run (three runs
interconnecting) It is 7 something kms long. Leaves from Terminus at bottom
of mountain in Cairns outer suburb,.takes about 1hour 15 minutes for entire
trip to Kuranda. Has many gondolas, about 25 on each section running
continuously, and each seats four adults. At each section end you may walk
and view rainforests, fauna, flora on boardwalks for as long as you wish or
cross directly to next section. Forestry Museum next to boardwalk. Views
are Fabulous as you pass over continuous rain forests, waterfalls, gorges
etc. Tip sit backwards on first leg to view Cairns and Pacific Ocean,
forewards on 2nd and 3rd legs.
Can't help re web sites, check with Australian Embassy or Consulate,
Tourist/Travel for more details.
Cairns population now 145,000, real big tourist area. April is good time
to visit re. weather.
