Rememebering of course that modern cars such as the ABB Variotram with
their articulated designs have considerably smaller swept paths than
traditional ridgid bogie designs.  The need for pointed noses is
redundant when the nose of the tram actually follows the path of the
track.  Pointed noses will probably only be needed if traditional
"ridgid" tram designs are used which don't appear to be the current
direction in rolling stock design.
