No other notes.....must've been fast asleep!

Tues 22/4
eventful trip on the 7:46!
Got away 4 late, HEP kept cutting in and out, then stopped at Corio (not
a scheduled stop) at
8:43 to let off an erring passenger....then driver went straight through
North Shore
(scheduled stop!). I alerted the Conductor as we sped through the
platform - relayed to
driver who braked hard, but had to keep going! Several irate passengers
(wanting the
Ballarat connection) alighted at North Geelong (and abused the
conductor) at 8:49, GEX
arrival finally at 8:55
GEX loco S307+S306 (with it's numberplates now missing - it can only be
identified by it's
single marker lights - S301 and 07 have dual markers, 07 also has it's
horns on the nose (a
much better look in my opinion!)

17:00 up
Greaser now in Nth Melbourne stabling sidings
X46 outbound on flyover at 18:00 with nose facing south (must've come
off a pass)

Wed 23/4

Overland had arrived by 7:40 - now there's a rarity!

Maryvale train waiting to reverse?)

P17 on the cement train at Arden St

loading of perhaps 8 cars on - hard to count as it was obscured by
Newport Signal box
x up NRC SF with BL+NR87 at Lara at 8:32
GEX loco S306 and another S

17:00 up
GEX loco T408, T400
G+S+S on a wheatie at NOG 'C' box facing Maryborough at 17:05
Last day of Mechanical Interlocking for Newport, with new track panels
ready to be installed,
track simplification and resignalling over the Anzac day weekend.
Geelong trains to be
replaced by busses, WCR trains to be bus from Melboune to Geelong, with
train beyond as
per normal timetable.

Cheers,
Craig.
