Ararat has welcomed the announcement by Victorian Premier Steve Bracks
that the city is among four centres to have its passenger rail service
restored. Ararat Rural City Council mayor Peter O'Rorke says rail
infrastructure in Victoria has been run down significantly in the last
40 to 50 years.
