Connex train splitting

Hi all,
Here is the follow up, as promised, to the issue of Connex train splitting
at Flinders St.
Despite what some of you thought (it WASN'T an April Fool's joke), a Connex
customer service officer did tell me that some works were going to be
carried out at Flinders St. to facilitate train splitting and make life
safer for drivers having to get down on the tracks if something went wrong.
Well, I'm here to tell you that works have been carried out. If you check
out the track on platform 4 at the point where 3 car Comeng sets are joined
to form 6 car sets you will see that screenings have been spread on top of
the ballast to make a smoother surface on which to stand.
Not much I know - but works nonetheless. So there:)
