According to the ABC, Transurban is to sue the Victorian Government over
improvements to Wurundjeri Way and the West Gate Freeway, claiming they
have taken cars off the CityLink tollway.
Former transport Minister Allan Brown said that Transurban could not
claim damages from competition. Transurban says the contract does allow
them to claim compensation.
What implications does this have for the airport railway, or
improvements to the Airport West tram? What would the ACCC have to say?
Granted in this case it is roads competing against roads.
