Re: Rail link teeters after $800m cost blow-out

In the interests of cost saving why not scrap the grandiose Parramatta
underground end and run a "Y" junction incorporating the present Carlingford
Junction and a new leg off the western line at the Clyde end of Granville.
The Parramatta Road can go over a bridge somewhere to eliminate the present
level crossing. The Parramatta underground end is probably only a vote
buying gimmick and probably not essential.
Cheers
