The Federal Government has criticised the Victorian Government's plea
for funds to help standardise Victoria's rail system. A spokesman for
the federal Transport Minister and Regional Development Minister, John
Anderson, said the government had not ruled out funding the
standardisation project. But he emphasised that it was Victoria's
responsibility.
