Today I posted a scan of a photo on alt.binaries.pictures.rail of Bangor &
Piscataquis "Pioneer".
This loco was a Planet type 2-2-0 built by Robert Stephenson in 1836.
The photo shows Pioneer in near-original condition at an unknown location
and unknown date.
It is most probably the only photograph of a Planet in service.
It may also be the oldest photo of any locomotive in service.
