Remember the grand plans for the nuclear power station on the shores of
Jervis Bay, back in the early 70s I think.  There was supposed to be a
railway connection across the river to the power station.  Some land was
cleared for the site, but it never got off the ground.  I doubt very much
that it would be viable to extend the track over the river into Nowra, you'd
be looking at many millions of dollars for a bridge.
