The latest copy of 3801 Limited News contains an appeal for funds from the
public to complete the restoration of ABL805 (formerly MCX 805) into a bar
and lounge car.
Unfortunately no reference is made to Taxation concessions with this appeal,
however there are proposed trade offs with concession fares on future
operations of trains including the vehicle.
The writer has vivid memories of a similar appeal and concession
arrangements for the Silver City Comet by the NSWRTM. Let us hope this
appeal results in the vehicle actually entering revenue service.
