Re: Napthine badgers govt for rail standardisation

Guess someone is promising him lots of "shares" if he can get the track
standardised. Maybe he thinks Bracks is getting the "payola" and he wants
some as well!
It was interesting looking at FA's plans if Bracks takes FA's rights to
track ownership away from them.
Basically the system closed down!
only Tocumwal to Geelong via the wharves stayed open.
Echuca, Wodonga Warnambool, Ballarat, Mildura,Dimboola and Portland all as
required. Most drivers on casual rates etc etc
No money for upgrades, and NO maintenance till something falls over!
This was all to force the Government to reneg and take back responsibility
for the track. Protracted Legal Action would then attempt to get back the
$250 millions already spent on buying what they thought they got,
considering they got nothing, under Bracks ideas.
Either Bracks is as dirty as the rest, and has his ALP hands in the tills
[not to be outdone by Kennett] or he is pretty damn stupid.
With open slather Freight Australia will only operate on the profitable
lines, the rest will not see a train.
When National Rail got opposition on the Perth route, their profits dropped
to nothing! By the time V/Line started running this route, SCT, Patricks and
NR were making so little out of it, FA quickly started hooking their stuff
on NR trains, it was much cheaper. FA are running SCT trains, but SCT meet
the bills!
