Costs more to run than a CPH.

The benefits of having a single railcar which can run on the smell of an
oily rag are so blindingly obvious it makes you wonder why every tourist
railway doesn't have one.

The Tasmanian DPs at BPR are a case in point. They could run all day (3
return trips) on about $20 worth of diesel. It was not unknown to fire up
one of the two on non-operating days if there were passengers offering and
a crew available. Only required the sale on one adult ticket to make a
profit.
