Bindi-eye's and Railway Stations....

What is it with railway stations and Bindi-eyes?

I was just thinking back how as a kid I would ride through our local station
on the way to school, careful not to stray from the well travelled shortcut.
Lets just say the local service station did well out of us kids on repair
kits :)

Is there a single station anywhere in Australia that Doesn't have the weed?
And, how did these places become infested in the first place?
